About WebJam

WebJam is a week-long event where students come together to create fully functional web applications. Whether you've never heard of web applications or built many, WebJam is here to give you a platform to learn, build, and create!

Over the past 4 years, WebJam has focused on encouraging beginners and people who are curious about web technologies — from frontend to backend! Our goal is to provide learning and networking opportunities for our community of developers, especially ones that come from underrepresented backgrounds in the tech space.

Monday, November 18
Opening Ceremony

Come out to our opening ceremony to learn about the schedule, rules, and resources for WebJam! As part of opening ceremony, we'll also be having a social where you can meet other WebJam participants and also meet teammates if you're looking for a team!
ICSSC Projects - Intro to Web Dev

Learn the basics of web development, including foundational concepts of HTML and CSS, to get your projects started.
Tuesday, November 19
Hack Workshop - Intro to Git

Discover how to use Git for version control in your web development projects. Essential for team collaboration and code management.

CTC - TypeScript Basics

Learn TypeScript fundamentals to enhance your JavaScript projects and gain more control over your code.
ICSSC Projects - Intro to Web APIs

Get introduced to the world of Web APIs and learn how to integrate them into your applications.

Thursday, November 21
Design - Intro to UI Principles

Understand the core principles of UI design, including layout, color theory, and typography, to elevate your web projects.
Work Time

Final work session to prepare your project. Utilize our mentors' guidance and make the most out of this time.
Friday, November 22
Presentations / Deliberation
6PM - 7:30PM • Student Center - Pacific Ballroom C
Present your completed projects in front of our judges and audience. The judges will then deliberate to select the winners.
Closing Ceremony
7:30PM - 8PM • Student Center - Pacific Ballroom C
Celebrate the end of WebJam with the announcement of winners and prize distribution. Thank you for participating!
